The most affordable stand-alone printer

Hewlett Packard's Designjet 510 was designed as a replacement to the most popular (and best-selling) Designjet 500 printer. It represents HP's most affordable standalone printer for the architectural, construction, engineering and mechanical design (MCAD) industry. It is ideally suited for the home/office user, architectural student, small workgroups or studios wishing to print in-house. It is classed as an entry level large format printer and offers:

  • 2400 x 1200 dpi resolution
  • HP GL/2 language incorporated
  • 160MB RAM (expandable to 416MB
  • 1 year manufacturers warranty
  • A0 model includes the stand (the stand is optional for the A1 model)

 

Intuitive and easy to use

The drivers on this machine are easy to install and overall it is very intuitively designed, with an easy to use control panel that makes for easy navigation.
Media changing is a smooth and simple process.

It is capable of printing an A1 drawing in 55 seconds (draft mode) and an inkset change takes less than 1 minute..This printer is also compatible with Windows Vista, Windows 7, XP, Server 2003, 2000, Mac OSX (10.3, 10.4 and 10.5).

 
Reliable performance and high line quality

The Designjet 510 offers impressive results. This 4 colour, high resolution machine (2400 x 1200 dpi) delivers fine line quality, continuous tones, smooth transitions, combined with high accuracy.

 

 

 

Photo Printing Capability

While essentially designed as a technical printer, this device will also produce great photographic prints - although it is not classed as a photographic printer. Clearly with just 4 inks, it does not offer the same colour matching capabilities as the Z series printers (which are specifically designed for Fine Art, Graphic Arts and Canvas printing) nevertheless, it produces pleasing results for those who also wish to do a little photographic printing combined with technical drawing. It certainly crosses the divide between having a great technical printer combined with photographic capabilites.

 

Versatility to grow with your business

This printer is available in two sizes - A1 (24") and A0 (42"). While the basic model is best suited for a single user, the additional purchase of a Jetdirect Card will allow this device to grow with your business by enabling multiple users or small groups to print directly to it.
