What are HP's Environmental Goals and Policies?

HP's environmental policy and goals are contained here.  

HP's 2013 environmental goals are:

  • Operations:  Reduce the greenhouse gas emissions by 20% from HP owned and HP leased facilties (relative to 2005 levels) by the end of 2013
    • Progress:  GHG emissions from operations equaled 1,856,500 tonnes in 2011, 20% below the 2005 baseline, meeting HP's goal 2 years early.  

  • Product Transport:  Implement network enhancements, mode changes and route optimization that decrease greenhouse gas emissions from product transport by 180,000 tonnes of CO2e, from 2008
    • Progress:  Through 2011, HP achieved reductions through various projects of 138,000 tonnes of C02e, since 2008

HP's 2015 environmental goals are:

  • Operations and travel:  Reduce GHG emissions from HP's US auto fleet by 10% on a per unit basis, compared to 2010 

  • Water:  Reduce freshwater use at sites identified as water-stressed by 3%, compared to 2011 consumption at those locations
  • Product reuse and recycling:  Recycle 3.5 billion pounds (1.6 million tonnes) of electronic products and supplies by end of 2015 (since 1987) and reuse 40 million product and accessory units by the end of 2015 (since 2003).
  • Paper:  50% or more of HP branded paper will be FSC certified or have at least 30% post consumer waste content by the end of 2015
    • Progress:  HP are on track to meet this target
