Support Cover

Sometimes things like to 'play dead'.  Designjets are no exception (and they typically wait until a looming deadline!).  In order to cover just such events, you can purchase either one of our own Support Contracts or a HP Care Pack.  

 

How does it work?
You purchase cover in advance for anywhere between 1-3 years and your Designjet can throw as many 'wobblys' as it likes within that timeframe - and you pay nothing further to get it fixed.  It's a cost effective way for you to receive a rapid, timed engineering response - and a way to avoid large unplanned repair bills.  Simple.  No fuss. Your printer just needs to be in good working order at the outset before you take out cover (if it isn't, don't worry - just let us know what's wrong and we'll get it sorted for you at a cheaper rate beforehand).

  • What does a Support Cover include?

    Support cover includes all callouts, engineering labour and parts. This includes all maintenance kits items (those parts which wear and tear with use). You also have a choice of upgrading from our standard cover to a Support Plus Contract - which includes an additional full service/clean/inspection and recalibration of your Designjet. (This is a preventative maintenance contract and is designed to keep your plotter in optimal working order). Exclusions include accidental damage/misuse (e.g. if you drop the printer down the stairs or damage the plotter during an office move), consumables (ink, printheads and paper), damage resulting from fitting remanufactured/non-HP consumables and parts, damage resulting from fitting 3rd party add-ons which stress the machine and damage resulting from the machine being operated outside of HP`s operating instructions (e.g. hostile environment - too hot/cold/dusty or with fluctuating power/power surges etc

  • How long does a Support Cover last?

    There is a choice of cover between 1-3 years. With respect to older models we cover most older Designjets. The older models we are unable to cover can still be repaired on an adhoc basis (subject to parts availability). When the renewal is due we will contact you again to see if you wish to renew - these are not rolling contracts so you are not 'tied-in'.

  • Is the Support Cover through you or HP?

    We will normally provide support ourselves on the UK mainland. Certain models and areas of the UK can only be covered under an HP Carepack.

  • What is the response time?

    We provide a next business day response, Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm - excluding bank holidays and weekends. This allows us sufficient time to ship parts to site to ensure that our engineer has all the parts required in order to effect a fast repair. Where appropriate we will also try to get you 'up and running' remotely as a "temporary stop gap" prior to our engineer attending. 98% of all contract calls are closed on the initial visit.

  • What if we move or I sell the printer ?

    If you move address simply notify us in writing and we can quickly switch cover to the new location free of charge. There may be a reduced response time depending on the new location so please check with us first (e.g. Outer Hebrides aren't covered, Isle of Wight may not be next working day if we are unable to secure a ferry etc). If you decide to sell or upgrade your printer please contact us first. If you trade-in your machine against a new purchase we will offset any full months left remaining on your contract and put it against your new printer
